No suggestion of any kind is made that you take my word for it here. The fact that many animals eat a wide variety of plant materials suggests most are edible but some are definitely not ... these animals have learned to avoid them (eg the Candelabra Euphorbia has a very poisonous latex and is not eaten by any animal).
